In an effort to secure a fourth state championship title, the Timberview High School boys basketball team won the semifinals game to advance to the final round.

The team beat Boerne Champion 55-43. To win it all, the boys will need a win against Beaumont United in the 5A state finals game on Saturday, March 12 at 3 p.m.

Head coach Duane Gregory said that it was a hard-fought win, and his team is prepared to do it again and take home the championship trophy.

“It was a dog fight there for a good while,” he said in a press conference after the win. “I thought we responded well in the second half. We had good push and good run. The start of that third quarter right there stretched it out a little bit.”

This is the fourth trip in six years that the Wolves have advanced to the state tournament round. They won state titles in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

The state tournament is being held at the Alamodome in San Antonio. State tournament tickets are sold through Ticketmaster and can be purchased here. More information about directions, parking and arena policies can be found here.
