To ensure a safe and successful end of school year, backpacks, drawstring bags, and large purses will not be allowed on the high school campuses during the week of Monday, May 20-23. This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution in order to protect the safety of students and staff. Students will only need school-issued devices, a writing utensil, and semester exam review materials. Students who need to carry small hygiene bags or medical monitoring devices will be allowed to do so, as always.
Cell phones will be allowed on campus in accordance to Mansfield ISD’s Student Handbook (page 47) as follows:
- Students are expected to keep their devices (cell phones, etc.) turned off and stored away during the school day. Students who violate the campus policy will be subject to disciplinary actions, including confiscation of the device. Failure to surrender the device will result in additional disciplinary consequences. The parent or student may pick up the confiscated device from the assistant principal’s office. An administrative fee of $15 will be charged as well as disciplinary consequences for repeat offenses.
- Devices may be used during passing periods and lunch.
We will maintain high expectations for student behavior in accordance with MISD’s Student Code of Conduct, and there will be increased student monitoring and supervision by staff. Students in violation will face the necessary consequences for violations of the Student Code of Conduct, including recommendations for the Behavior Intervention Center (BIC) or Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) for beginning on the 2024-25 school year if warranted.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to work together to keep our students and staff safe.
