MISD police officers working on project with elementary students

The web is one way your school district police department uses today's technology and expertise to create safe schools.

The Mansfield ISD Police Department has been fully-authorized as a police agency by the State of Texas since September 28, 1993, and all MISD school district officers are commissioned by the State of Texas. School district police officers are authorized to enforce all laws and may arrest individuals found in violations of those laws. Additionally, officers may write appropriate citations for offenses covered by State law, including offenses listed in the Texas Education Code. These citations are filed with the Justice of the Peace or Municipal Court having jurisdiction.

We assign one or more officers to every MISD campus, while other officers are assigned to investigative or support positions. The Police Department has 64 full-time sworn officers, eight civilian personnel and 57 school crossing guards.

We are well-trained professionals who work together as a team, adapt to changing environments, and reflect the values of the Mansfield Independent School District in carrying out our assignments.
